Q: What makes your coaching Catholic? Why does it matter that it is Catholic?
A: When it comes to addiction and changing human behavior, it's so important to understand that grace is the true change agent. We cannot do it on our own, and God wants our participation. We need God, and God desires our good. My work and coaching is grounded in this understanding of the whole human person: spirit-mind-body, and God's merciful love. The richness of the Catholic faith will play an integral part of the weekly calls. There are many recovery options online but to incorporate the faith into recovery brings it full circle and is rare to find.
Q: Why is group coaching so important to recovery?
A: Rarely does one recover alone. "The LORD God said, "It is not good for man to be alone." Genesis 2:18. I tried doing it on my own and while watching a great talk or reading a series of articles or books can be helpful, what I believe is most critical to healing from pornography addiction is community which provides ongoing accountability and support. The weekly meetings help through the highs and lows of our lives. Come and see how men are breaking free and growing in authentic Catholic brotherhood.
Q: Who is this for?
A: This is for all men who struggle with problematic sexual behavior. I have a passion for helping men in the faith find sobriety and lasting recovery. Whether you're a single or married man who can't get rid of this behavior, and you've tried everything else, I am here to help you on this journey with proven recovery principles blended with the riches of the Church.
Q: Why do you have a passion for helping men?
A: I know how difficult it is to break free. When I was single, I desperately wanted to be free of my behavior, to be dating material. As a newly married man, I didn't want this to be part of my marriage. Pornography has such devastating effects and getting the help and the relationship back on track is critical. If you're single, I want to spare you the agony I went through or if you're married, I want to help you navigate the road to recovery.
Q: What can I expect in group coaching?
A: In our group coaching, you can expect a weekly lesson on new topics and there is time for sharing for each member. This can be uncomfortable for some at first, but what they find is that their sharing and participation helps themselves and the others in the group. They begin to feel a part of something special and not the old feeling of apart from. The guys develop friendships through these regular meetings. Calls go for one hour.
Q: When are group coaching calls held?
A: Group coaching calls are online. They are held weekly via Zoom. Join the call from the comfort of your home.
Q: I've honestly tried everything to heal my porn addicton, why should this be any different?
A: I was just like you doing everything I could find in the Church like the sacraments - daily mass, regular confession, adoration, spiritual direction and even a men's group. These were instrumental and, at the same time, I still struggled with this issue until I took action and personal responsibility. My experience has allowed me to dig deeper into root-cause issues while creating practical daily activities for success and regular accountability to maintain this new, healthy way of living. I want to provide hope because I know how it feels to be defeated in this area of life.
Q: Are you approved by the Catholic Church?
A: I am a Catholic in good standing. I follow the teachings of the Church and implement the beauty of the Catholic faith into the topics discussed and the suggestions offered.
Q: What makes you experienced and qualified to help me heal from porn addiction?
A: I am certified as a Professional Sex Addiction Professional (PSAP) through IITAP, trained Full Disclosure Guide through Kintsugi Recovery Partners, Inner Child Model Clinician through Dr. Eddie Capparucci and an ERCEM trained Couples Coach. I got my start as a certified coach through Noble Health. I have experience through the S.A. 12-Step Program of which I have been an active member for fifteen years and, by the grace of God, one day at-a-time, I have been sexually sober for over 12 years. I have been in online coaching for five years and, through the 12-Step Program, I have worked with upwards of one hundred men directly and have the shared experience with thousands in meeting rooms. I will walk you through what works and what doesn't work in my experience and the experience of others.
